Under the government’s Soorya Bala Sangramaya rooftop-solar programme there are three schemes to choose from. We submit your net-meter application to the CEB or LECO as part of the job.
Net Metering
You pay only for the units you consume beyond what you generate. Any surplus is carried forward as a credit to later months — no cash is paid for excess.
Net Accounting
Generate more than you use and you are paid for the excess at the government’s prevailing rate. Use more than you generate and you pay the normal tariff on the difference.
Net Plus
You are paid for everything the system generates at the applicable tariff, independent of your own consumption — which is billed to you separately.
